Position Summary - Director of Human Resources:
Bigge's Director of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources ("HR") with the overall objective of providing support to our people and management in our pursuit to further improve, develop and execute our growth strategy and corporate mission. The successful candidate will partner with each business unit to provide consultative HR advice and counsel, and align business needs to HR strategies to drive HR's initiatives in support our corporate goals. This position has responsibility for all HR functions, including leadership and associate development, compliance, recruiting, management training, advice and counsel to management, employee relations, HR communications, rewards and recognition, compensation and creating and maintaining a fun working culture. This is an in-the-office position based in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities:
This leadership position must have the ability to effectively interact with management and employees at all levels of the organization in order to support our business operations including:
- Work with and counsel C-level and senior management to effectively monitor employee relations and performance.
- Responsible for all things required for HR compliance in multiple jurisdictions.
- Develops HR organizational strategies -- contributes information, analysis and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction.
- Develops HR operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting and anticipating requirements. Develops action plans, measuring and analyzing results, and initiates corrective actions, as needed.
- Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, updating and maintaining policies, procedures, best practices and enforcing organization values.
- Identify specific management training opportunities for key management and executives.
- Oversees talent acquisition, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, retention, compliance and labor relations.
- Work closely with HR team and executive leaders to benchmark and continue to execute excellent total compensation packages.
- Foster an environment of employee growth and development through training, mentorship, and goals setting.
- Maintain a consistent open-door HR environment to foster communication and cooperation among employees, departments and all offices.
- Oversee a high-performing HR team. Work closely with these individuals to develop professionally and to ensure all company objectives are being met on a timely basis.
- Work with HR team and senior executives on succession planning, recruiting and employee development.
- Consult and advise division leadership on highly confidential and complex human resources and employee relations issues.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources or related field is required. Professional certification as SPHR is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in human resources with a minimum of five years of experience in a management role.
- Experience in the construction industry, working with union employees and related policies are a plus.
- Solid background in all HR applications with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Effective knowledge of U.S. and California Labor law and practices.
- Wage and salary/benefit administration principles and practices.
- Strong leadership skills, including people management skills - understands how to scale an HR organization by effectively working through people.
- Must be willing to travel to remote branch locations across the United States - 10-20%.
- Strong critical thinking skills with an open-minded approach and collaborative work style.
- An effective leader and manager with demonstrated experience managing multiple locations.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills, as well as solid management ability.
- Proven ability to grow with the business, perform as expected and assist with the business growth.
- Candidate must be a solid team player that works well with managers and levels below management.
- Proven ability to assist in the development of effective training programs.
- Candidate must utilize solid judgment based on situations presented.
- Candidate must have a proven record of accomplishment of business objectives.
