Job Description

Teledyne Controls specializes in providing cutting-edge onboard avionics systems and ground-based applications to facilitate efficient data access, management, and utilization for both civil and military aircraft operators.

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in El Segundo. This role requires a collaborative individual capable of working within a concurrent engineering team and effectively communicating across all technical levels. The successful candidate will assist in architectural definitions, prepare cost-effective design concepts, and conduct thorough tests and analyses to support product development and improvement. With responsibilities ranging from high-complexity CCA and FPGA design to root-cause failure analysis and technical mentoring, this position demands a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and extensive experience in FPGA and board-level design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Ability to work on a concurrent engineering team and interface and communicate effectively with all levels of technical team members and leadership
  • Assist in system-level/card-level/chip-level architectural definition
  • Prepare design concepts to lower costs and improve reliability
  • Documentation of trade-off analyses for multiple design approaches
  • Conduct tests, experiments and analyses in support of new products and/or improvements for existing products
  • Design, development and verification of high-complexity CCAs
  • Design, development and verification of high-complexity FPGAs
  • Documentation of circuit analysis, modeling and simulation
  • Component selection based on performance specifications and design engineering guidelines
  • Test fixture design and test procedure development
  • Factory support (troubleshooting in both production and repair environments)
  • Performance and documentation of root-cause failure analysis
  • Documentation of corrective action recommendations
  • General engineering documentation (related to requirements, design, assembly, test and verification)
  • Technical mentoring of junior engineers
  • Apply continuous improvement methods to existing processes/procedure


Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university, preferably in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school
  • 5+ years of years of experience in FPGA design/development, board-level design including: CPU design, Gigabit Ethernet, DDR3/4, PCIe, USB, SATA.
  • Advance knowledge with Microsoft Application tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of FPGA tools (Xilinx, Microsemi, Altera)
  • Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a US Person (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).

Salary Range:
$90,800.00-$121,100.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
