Job Title: Transmission Engineer

Job Description

We have an immediate opening for a Transmission Engineer in our small but dynamic transmission group. The team consists of three people, and we are seeking a new member to fill a vacant spot and help manage the workload and meet deadlines. The Transmission Line Engineer will lead the design and coordination of all aspects related to line design between 40kV-230kV. You will apply standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI, and others in the engineering and design of electrical overhead and underground systems, voltage conversion projects, new capacity projects, and infrastructure replacement projects.
Responsibilities
  • Design medium and high voltage (40kV-230kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
  • Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
  • Prepare specifications and project design criteria.
  • Provide field support during construction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members.
Essential Skills
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4-7 years of transmission line engineering work.
  • Experience in line design.
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD and/or PLS-Pole.
  • Experience working with 40kV to 230kV.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with GIS.
  • Construction work related to utilities.
  • Experience with major utility groups such as DTE, ITC Holdings, Burns and Mac, Power Engineers, HDR.
  • Master's degree.
  • Proficiency in PPILE, FAD, AutoCAD, Mathcad, Microstation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $67.30/hr.
