Description:
Under general supervision, provides clinical support for the management of assigned clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery and performs direct patient care.
Education:
Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.
Licensures/Certifications:
Current Maryland State license as a Registered Nurse
CPR certification not required, but preferred.
Experience:
At least three years of experience in hospice preferred
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective planning and organization skills in order to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong analytical skills in order to identify and develop solutions to administrative, operational, and patient care problems.
Able to supervise, train, and provide effective leadership to nursing personnel.
Computer literate.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resource functions:
In conjunction with Clinical Team Manager:
Assists with maintenance of employee competencies.
Monitors and reviews work performance of the staff, including field competency assessments.
Clinical/Educational Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialist, identifies, plans and participates in educational programs based on organizational needs.
Participates in Process Improvement activities as indicated
Orients and trains new nursing staff
Develops the orientation schedule for new employees in collaboration with the Clinical Manager, Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Team Operations:
Participates in and supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Team and departmental goals and objectives.
Utilizes conflict resolution strategies to address operational and interpersonal issues as they arise.
Responsible for sending Morning Report in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
Assist with trunk and bag checks.
Provides support to the team for daily clinical concerns.
Provides support to the team as a Subject Matter expert for Epic, Enclara, Medline, symptom management and Gilchrist Policies and Protocols.
Patient Care Management:
Provides direct services to a modified assigned caseload of patients and families
Review documentation routinely for completeness and compliance.
Communicates as necessary with other hospice departments to coordinate efforts, resolve operational problems and improve the quality of patient care.
Assists with coordination of interdepartmental activities that have impact on patient care.
Reviews patient plans of care to assure appropriate focus on patient priorities and interdisciplinary participation.

Pay Range
$67,599.08 - $116,026.82
Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
