Description:
The Vice President of Safety and Quality is responsible for leading and enforcing safety protocols, while managing both Quality Assurance and Quality Control across all manufacturing operations. This role ensures regulatory compliance, reduces risk, and promotes a zero-incident culture while upholding the highest standards of product quality and driving a culture of operational and performance excellence throughout the organization. Additionally, this leader will oversee Operational Excellence initiatives for JTS operations by championing The MCG Way, the company's operating system focused on strategy deployment, process discipline, and continuous improvement. The VP will lead enterprise-wide efforts in safety, quality, and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
Requirements
Required Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations, or a related field required.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in safety and quality management within a manufacturing environment.
Deep understanding of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and industrial safety practices.
Proven experience implementing and managing quality systems such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or Lean.
Experience developing and scaling training, audit, and compliance systems.
Required Skill/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management, and corrective/preventive action systems.
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional safety and quality initiatives.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities across multiple locations.
Clear, confident communicator with the ability to influence and educate at all levels of the organization.
Skilled in data analysis, audit preparation, and reporting.
Supervisory Requirements
Direct oversight of Safety, Quality Managers and Continuous Improvement leaders at each manufacturing site.
Responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, and professional development across the safety, quality and continuous improvement function.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Office and plant environment, including time spent on production floors.
Must be comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and conditions.
Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.), standing, and walking during site visits or audits.
Occasional travel required to facility and vendor locations.

Requirements
- Lead development and execution of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across all facilities, partnering with the Central Operations Safety leader to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Oversee safety training, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and compliance reporting.
- Provide strategic direction and support to site-level safety managers, fostering a zero-incident culture.
- Own the Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation, audits, and compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA), in coordination with the Central Operations Quality leader.
- Lead internal and external safety and quality audits, certifications, and compliance reviews.
- Direct quality training programs and manage investigations of product issues, ensuring timely resolution and preventive actions.
- Guide and support site-level quality leaders to ensure product quality meets standards.
- Deploy The MCG Way by embedding strategy deployment, and process discipline across JTS operations, in collaboration with the Central Operational Excellence leader.
- Drive a culture of Operational Excellence using Lean Six Sigma to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Lead kaizen events and structured problem-solving efforts to eliminate waste and reduce variation.
- Build and sustain continuous improvement systems aligned to enterprise goals.
- Coach leaders on lean tools, visual management, daily accountability, and standard work.
- Define and track KPIs related to safety, quality, and operational performance as part of The MCG Way .
