We're hiring solution-minded people excited to help us grow into the future. We are currently looking to fill the position of Asset Management Specialist, BI.

As a member of NSP's Enterprise Asset Management Operational Technology team, the Asset Management Specialist is responsible, working under the technical guidance of the Operational Technology Lead, for the design, development and testing of data workflows, business rules, scripts and custom coding of Business Intelligence reporting and applications, facilitating both batch and real time, on premise as well as azure cloud environments, as dictated by requirements.

Key elements of this role include:

  • Lead design and requirements sessions with stakeholders.
  • Develop Power BI Embedded reports, wireframes, and mock-ups in an Agile environment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize performance.
  • Develop visually articulate dashboards that convey relevant information based on business requirements
  • Review data sources, data, and work flows to interpolate and extrapolate data
  • Develop and review reports from large and complex structured data sets
  • Develop and debug complex SQL queries involving multiple data sources
  • Develop and maintain data catalogs, data dictionaries, and data models (experience with Python or similar tools)
  • Developing tests and test cases to validate data sources and support new data set integrations
  • Create ad-hoc reports to address emergent business needs

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in digital project technology execution and application management
  • Experience with data movement and ingestion into cloud data lake.
  • Experience working in a large private or public-sector organization is preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience with Azure Data Services, SQL expertise, security best practices preferred
  • Experienced at requirements building, data modelling, and workflow development aligning to business process
  • Experience with data quality management, including data profiling, assessment and classification
  • Advanced experience with SQL and relational database querying
  • Detailed business analysis skills - capable of diving deep to understand business user-needs
