Summary
DWC seeks a full-time Director of Health and Wellness to oversee operations and program development of DWC's Health & Wellness programs, including Day Center services, workforce development and health programming. An ideal candidate will lead, inspire, and motivate a team of professionals whose primary goal is to end homelessness for women in the Skid Row community. This position is a member of DWC's Leadership Team and will report directly to the Deputy Program Officer.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday - Friday 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM, with a requirement to be on-call during weekend hours.
Travel
Regular travel throughout Los Angeles County is required in this position.
Remote
Expectation to be able to work onsite full time as scheduled, with the possibility of some remote work.

Essential Functions
- Provide fiscal and programmatic oversight of the Day Center, Workforce Development, and Health Program contracts, including budget and grant requirements
- Manage both government and private funds and track expenses
- Oversee partnership with an FQHC in co-located on-site health center
- Provide weekly individual supervision to direct reports
- Oversee all audit procedures and ongoing quality assurance for assigned programs.
- Oversee risk management and crisis intervention for assigned programs
- Provide oversight of supportive services, including on-site services from community partners
- Attend funder meetings as scheduled
- Engage in strategic planning and forecasting for assigned programs
- Leverage internal and external resources and identify areas for program growth
- Engage in strategic planning and forecasting for assigned programs
- Participate in and facilitate internal and external meetings and trainings, including Monthly Department meetings, weekly Care Coordination meetings, and bi-weekly Health & Wellness Leadership Meetings
- Oversee program development to enhance DWC services, including coordination of enrichment activities for participants and development of community partnerships
- Develop and implement Health and Wellness program policies, procedures, and services using evidenced based practices, including Trauma-Informed Care and harm reduction; proactively engage clients in program design and respond to client grievances
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, staff, and local service providers
- Maintain a culture of performance management and continuous improvement, helping staff focus on both their individual clients as well as the agency's overall goals; develop annual department goals, including objectives, strategies, and specific targets; monitor client databases and other performance tracking tools
- Provide training on best practices for DWC staff and in the community, including Trauma-Informed Care, Crisis Intervention, and Harm Reduction
- Continuously develop systems to ensure that the program is efficient, effective, low-barrier, and meets funder expectations
- Ensure that staff receive comprehensive onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Develop, train, and coach a multi-disciplinary team that provides trauma-informed services to clients who have experienced homelessness, trauma, and mental health and substance abuse issues
- Serve as an ambassador of DWC and its mission and values by participating in community meetings/collaboratives/events
- Collect and report out on program data and progress as requested and per agency policies and procedures
- Provide regular, written reports to the Deputy Program Officer and additional reports as assigned

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Education in Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred
- Two years' of supervisory experience in a non-profit or government agency setting required
- Program, contract and budget management preferred
- Experience working in social services; homeless services experience strongly preferred
- Crisis intervention experience, and familiarity and comfort working with issues related to homelessness, including substance abuse, mental health issues, and histories of trauma
- Knowledge of data collection tools to track client progress
- Able to solve problems by being resourceful and using creativity
- Knowledge of the complex barriers surrounding women's homelessness
- Utilize Evidence Based Practices in service delivery such as Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction.

- Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with community stakeholders and health and social service providers
- Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required

- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences

- Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations around confidentiality and mandated-reporting
- Professional attitude; team- and service-oriented, friendly, and positive
- Valid California Driver's License, active car insurance, and good driving record required
- Must be a CA resident and live no more than 80 miles from DWC; must be available for in-person meetings at DWC
- Must provide documentation of a negative TB test result within the last twelve months, on first day of hire
- You will be required to be up to date on your vaccinations against COVID-19 and provide documentation. If you are fully vaccinated and not yet eligible to receive a booster dose, then you must receive the booster dose within 30 days of becoming eligible and eligibility begins 5 months after receiving final primary dose. If you are fully vaccinated and have received a booster dose, you are considered up to date with your vaccinations. Unvaccinated individuals must receive their 1st dose before their first day of hire. Partially vaccinated (for 2-dose series) individuals must receive their 2nd dose within 30 days of being hired. The second dose of a two-dose vaccine series is due 4 weeks after the primary dose.
