We proudly serve national fleets, trucking companies, municipalities, and independent garages within the Northeastern part of the United States. As we continue to grow and expand our business, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Director to join our team.

Job Description:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Procurement Director to develop and execute the organization's overall procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of commercial truck and bus parts. This role requires strategic leadership to drive procurement initiatives, align purchasing activities with organizational goals, and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Procurement Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and implement the organization's procurement strategy to align with business objectives.
    • Develop and implement strategic buying plans aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Lead initiatives to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and improve supply chain efficiency.
    • Monitor market trends, supply chain risks, and opportunities to inform purchasing decisions.


  • Supplier Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers/vendors based on quality, reliability, and total landed cost
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with vendors.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to contractual agreements.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers and manage risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contract Negotiation
    • Lead contract negotiations with vendors, customers, and partners to secure favorable terms and conditions.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to establish negotiation strategies and achieve business goals.
    • Act as a point of contact for contract-related inquiries or disputes such as quality or warranty and return eligibility.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Conduct regular analysis of material costs working closely with operations and centralized planning for cost reduction opportunities.
    • Forecast material needs based on sales trends, seasonal variations, and market conditions.
    • Analyze historical data to establish baseline for long-term supply agreements.
    • Prepare summaries and reports on contract performance, negotiations, and risks for senior leadership.
    • Evaluate existing contracts to identify opportunities for renegotiation or cost savings.


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including centralized planning, operations, and finance to ensure alignment and synergy across departments.
    • Work closely with centralized planning to understand material needs and priorities.
    • Present procurement performance metrics, savings, and strategic updates to senior leadership.
    • Participate in regular meetings to provide updates, address challenges, and drive continuous improvement.


  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality within the procurement function.


  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing complex procurement functions, driving cost-saving initiatives, negotiating multiple supplier agreements at any given time and achieving quantifiable cost synergies.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and risk assessment skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to sustainable procurement practices.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, with a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to visit other locations and attend meetings or conferences as needed.
