About the role:
The Director, Alliance Management will play a pivotal cross-functional role in a high-growth organization at a great time to join KalVista as a key member of the Corporate Development team and report to the SVP, Corporate Development. This role serves as the key point of contact to manage relationships and alliances between KalVista Pharmaceuticals and its ex-US partners for our lead product (sebetralstat) as well as future in-licensed pipeline assets requiring Alliance Management support. The highly-qualified individual hired for this role will be responsible for working cross-functionally (with both internal and external stakeholders) to drive and execute key partnership objectives. This is a meaningful opportunity to build and shape the alliance management function at KalVista.

This is a meaningful opportunity to build and shape the alliance management function at KalVista.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for our alliance partners and act as a cross-functional advocate for advancing our alliances through key milestones post deal execution
- Manage all aspects of alliance governance (Joint Steering/Development/ Commercialization Committees), including scheduling, agenda and presentation preparation, development of minutes, and tracking of action items aligned with the contract
- Support discussions pertaining to partnership matters and partner with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Medical, and Commercial departments to progress collaborations aligned with contractual agreements as well as any future amendments
- For risks, delays, or any other Issues that require a potential change in strategy, coordinate stakeholder meetings and help support presentation of key topics and identification of solutions and potential risk mitigation plans
- Track all ongoing activities pertaining to each partnership (raised either internally or externally), identify the party(ies) responsible for action, and progress through resolution
- Assist in establishing new partnerships/alliances and lead post-deal integration activities
- Create and track milestone schedules and progress for each partnership and regularly communicate timelines and milestone projections to finance and accounting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a life sciences discipline required; MBA or other advanced degree (e.g. PhD) preferred
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience in the biotech/pharma industry (e.g., alliance management, corporate/business development, strategy, etc.), healthcare focused investment banking, or management consulting
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and challenging deadlines
- Experience with managing, executing, and/or evaluating biopharma licensing agreements
- Knowledge of the full lifecycle of drug development through commercialization, with knowledge of each function's main objectives and contributions (CMC/drug supply, commercial, business development, clinical development, regulatory affairs, finance/accounting, medical affairs, etc.)
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment under challenging deadlines
- Collaborative in nature with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong relationship-building and operational management skills
