Job Summary:

This Area Sales Director (ASD) is responsible for covering a specified sales territory including OEM Accounts and Distribution. Coordination and qualification of those accounts is done with the VP of Sales. Getting A-T Controls on end-user national/global AML's along with growing sales in the assigned territory is the primary job responsibility. The ASD is responsible for assisting distribution and inside sales with product selection based on specifications or on specialty applications.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Make calls and/or education of A-T Controls products with end-users and EPC's to get A-T Controls specified on national/global AML's.
  • Makes sales calls on and with distribution assigned to their respective coverage area.
  • Makes recommendations regarding distribution for assigned territory.
  • Helps with train salespeople with application knowledge and product selection products/recommendations for specific application needs.
  • Makes sales calls on OEM and direct house accounts.
  • Provide training on A-T Controls products for assigned distribution.
  • Gets involved with any sales related issue where needed and directed in the field territory.
  • Assists in expediting and other coordinative issues to all accounts in the territory.
  • Advise Management of unique, large or difficult opportunities and quotations.
  • Interfaces with Operations Manager to assist in various facets of order processing as necessary.
  • Offer alternate solutions to customers depending on application and product availability.
  • Increase order value and general revenue by actively offering accessories and additional products and services during communication with customers.
  • Communicates with and updates management on weekly activity, planning and significant accounts/events in the territory.


Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering preferred or equivalent technical school certification
    • Alternatively, 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role identifying and addressing customer needs within relevant industry
    • Strong market reputation with the ability to attract business to the Company through distributor relationships


  • Skills & Abilities
    • Advanced knowledge of valves, actuation and related products
    • Understanding of applications in the chemical, oil & gas, food & beverage and power markets
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Meet annual training requirements per A-T controls ISO 9001:2021 quality program
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software
    • Ability to perform job function with little to no supervision
