Senior Manager - Facilities Project Engineering

System One is seeking a Sr. Manager - Facilities Project Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Coraopolis Pennsylvania.

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager - Facilities Project Engineering is responsible for leading the execution of large-scale capital improvement projects across industrial facilities, including plant expansions and new construction. This role will oversee a portfolio of projects totaling approximately $50 million, guiding a team of Project Engineers and Project Managers through all project phases-from initial scope development to construction and commissioning.

The role requires strategic oversight of engineering execution, including scope definition, cost estimation, design coordination, scheduling, and financial reporting. The Senior Manager ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop the annual capital spending plan and manage ongoing capital project tracking and reporting.
Assign projects and assemble cross-functional teams to execute initiatives based on business needs and priorities.
Lead the development and execution of project strategies utilizing a blend of internal and external resources.
Maintain technical standards, specifications, and best practice design guidelines for facility projects.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope and design considerations.
Maintain structured project documentation and file systems for efficient project control and reporting.
Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations and government requirements.
Communicate effectively with manufacturing, leadership, and procurement teams to support successful project delivery.
Manage and develop a high-performing team of Project Engineers and Project Managers.
Drive adherence to safety policies and support all organizational safety initiatives.
Define and implement procedures, policies, and technical standards for project execution.
Ensure accurate project cost tracking and forecasting using SAP Project Systems.
Provide regular reports on project status, budgets, and financial projections.
Oversee fair and transparent procurement processes and vendor selection.
Evaluate supplier performance and identify qualified partners for engineering and construction services.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or a related discipline) from a four-year accredited institution.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
At least 10 years of experience as a Project Manager leading engineering and construction projects.
Experience managing engineering and construction contracts for over 10 years.
Minimum of 2 years of experience managing direct reports.
Preference for candidates with 20+ years of experience managing major capital improvement projects.

Additional Details:
Salary range is between $130k - $146k
