Position: AVP - Business Development, Payment Products

Location: Hybrid - 2 days/week in-office (Toronto)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Compensation Range: $145,000-$165,000 base

About the Role: OpenTrust Consulting is seeking a seasoned and dynamic AVP of Business Development to lead client acquisition and growth initiatives in the fast-evolving world of payment products. This is a high-impact leadership role for a proven sales expert who thrives on driving strategy, cultivating industry relationships, and delivering tailored solutions within the fintech and financial services space.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies across payment product lines including real-time payments, EFT, merchant services, prepaid solutions, and digital assets.
Build and expand trusted partnerships with key stakeholders across financial institutions and fintech ecosystems.
Serve as a subject matter expert and client advocate-analyzing business needs and crafting payment solutions that enhance client performance.
Represent the organization at payments industry events and conferences, enhancing visibility and market positioning.
Lead deal negotiations, manage a robust pipeline, and exceed revenue targets through consultative selling and relationship-first strategies.
Travel occasionally within North America for client engagements and industry events.
Qualifications:
7-10+ years of progressive sales experience within the payments industry, particularly in acquiring, issuing, and money movement.
Deep network and strong reputation in the Canadian and U.S. payments landscape (bonus if you're already known by key industry leaders).
Experience working with financial institutions, card networks, and fintechs.
Demonstrated track record of closing complex deals and achieving ambitious revenue goals.
Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills-confident, charismatic, and polished.
History of participation or speaking at payments-related conferences or summits.
Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
