Job Description
Job Title: Cytology Technician
Profession: Laboratory
Specialty: Cytotechnology
Duration: 18 weeks
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour
Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty required
License: Valid state license preferred
Certifications: ASCP-CT required
Must-Have: First-timers accepted, no weekend requirement
Description:
The department needs technicians skilled in GYN, Non-GYN, FNA, and Rapid On-site Evaluation.
Shifts available are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, and 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM.
Weekend work is not required.
Candidates can float within the facility to meet needs.
Possible rotation to other affiliated locations may be required.
Candidates must perform Robotic EBUS, regular EBUS, EUS, Rapid On-site Evaluation (ROSE), CT, Ultrasound, and Hologic Imager.
Experience in inpatient lab, outpatient lab, and ultrasound settings is required.
Professional skills for labeling and identifying specimens are necessary.
Candidates must be aware of state-specific fingerprinting and background check requirements.
References from previous supervisors are mandatory upon submission.
Candidates should be informed that they will not receive post-assignment references.
Completion of required pre-start modules is expected.
Modules will be documented and monitored for compliance.
Orientation will last 8 hours and is not billable.
