The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Linux Server Administrator, Journeyman, to serve as the primary point of contact for the management and maintaining of the Linux server environments to support the operational requirements of USSTRATCOM. This role requires a strong understanding of Linux systems, server security and performance optimization, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.

Responsibilities:

Server Administrator (Linux), Journeyman:
  • Installs, configures, and maintains Linux servers and associated software applications
  • Performs regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure server stability and security
  • Monitors server performance and troubleshoots issues to ensure optimal functionality
  • Operates, sustains, and backs up the server (physical/virtual) IAW applicable policies for USSTRATCOM
  • Monitors the operation of the server (physical/virtual) to ensure proper operation and troubleshoot, analyze, isolate, and document the root cause of issues that arise
  • Provides day-to-day operations by maintaining, managing, monitoring, and patching for Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) and non-IAVA compliance and administering server systems on the Enterprise IT
  • Ensures secure access to Linux systems, maintaining proper permissions and user management
  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple, complex work assignments
  • Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks
  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Top Secret security clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux server administration
  • Required 8140 Cert within 6 months of start date: 451 - Basic; A+ or CND or Network+; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training

AND
  • Additional Cert: CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), or other related Linux certification desired
  • Proficiency in managing Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM)
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$65,000 - $136,500
