General Description:

The purpose of the NDE Foreman is to streamline work assignments and provide day to day management and direct oversight and leadership of all NDE crews.

This position will be responsible for driving Kakivik's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. Essential Duties & Job Functions:

To perform successfully in this role, the individual must be able to accomplish the following duties:

  • Demonstrate and ensure an overall commitment to Safety and Quality.
  • Understand the different types of inspection techniques necessary to perform the scope of the project.
  • Perform data entry and analysis of all inspection data.
  • Be familiar with radiation inspection methods.
  • Code film interpretation with CR
  • Provide daily mentoring to inspectors to promote continuous improvement of Technician skills, knowledge, and experience
  • Run daily toolbox meetings
  • Perform periodic NDE inspections in conjunction with the general inspection crews to help gather inspection data as needed.
  • Support the Project Coordinator (as needed) to help maintain inventory control (shipping, maintenance, tracking, and repair) of NDE inspection tools and radiation safety equipment.
  • Distribute equipment daily to the inspection crews.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of weld evaluation and integrity management mandatory
  • Proficient with computer usage especially in Microsoft office software applications.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in front of groups.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently as well as manage all aspects of the team.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Alaska oil industry experience required.


Required Qualifications:

  • A valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years' supervisor or field lead experience.
  • Minimum 10 years as an NDE technician.
  • RT Level II, with experience specific to North Slope pipeline activity.
  • Current Film Interpretation certification for CR and/or hold a qualification for reading and interpreting radiographic images to standards such as API, ASME, AWS etc.
  • ASNT IRRSP/State Card certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Level 2 certifications and/or in UT, MT & PT
  • Current ASNT Level 2 certifications for RT utilizing and interpreting computed and digital radiography (CR)

Work Environment:

  • Work involves continuous use of the computer terminal and may require sitting for extended periods. Some overtime may be required. Travel to field locations is required to include air travel to remote locations in arctic conditions.

  • MOBILITY: While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses computers daily. He/she is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
