POSITION PURPOSE

A brief summary of the purpose this position must fulfill.

The Commercial Supply Chain Manager supports Contract Business/Supply Chain functions in progressing and maintaining business for existing commercial products and new product transfers. This individual is expected to work independently with external customers and internal business partners. The Commercial Supply Chain Manager is the primary liaison between contract customers and Kavis and is tasked with optimizing supply chain solutions to ensure customers and Kavis key performance indicators are obtained.

  • Commercial Supply Chain Management
  • Serve as primary relationship liaison between contract customers and Kavis functional areas
  • Facilitate / lead internal meetings and regularly scheduled commercial meetings with customers to drive on time product delivery and other commercial requirements
  • Organize meetings, prepare agendas, distribute meeting notes, and follow-up on open actions items
  • Understand the Bill of Material process and item master plans and implement accordingly
  • Partner with contract customers to understand and maintain adequate product stock levels
  • Evaluate long lead time items and assess production risks
  • Manage inventory levels by generating monthly inventory reports and identifying slow moving, rejected and obsolete materials
  • Coordinate and integrate artwork revisions for packaging components and materials
  • Monitor forecast and firm production demand to include material lead times and supportability items
  • Review customer forecast requirements and firm POs for accuracy, load sales orders and forecast demand into SAP, and process SAP transactions to support product shipments to customer warehouses
  • Understand the customer's PO and billing processes and support Finance on past due invoices as needed.
  • Track and maintain customer warehouse distribution licenses annually
  • Collaborate and support internal departments on development programs and site transfers to ensure a smooth transition from validation through commercial.
  • Work closely with Long Term Planning and Production Scheduling to manage capacity and customer demand.
  • Understand Manufacturing Service Agreements to include pricing, terms, liability, renewal options and unique outliers specific to each contract customer.
  • Work with site personnel to ensure customer delivery requirements and priorities are visible and are being actioned appropriately.
  • Support and implement annual pricing reviews and ensure premiums are captured and communicated to the customer as allowed by the manufacturing service agreement.
  • Work with functional teams (i.e., Engineering, Operations, QC, QA, Validations, etc.), as appropriate, to prepare and submit product cost quotations to the customer on existing commercial business based on the terms of the Supply Agreement.
  • Responsible for measuring and delivering CMO project outcomes successfully. Implement and/or adapt processes and metrics to ensure commercial project goals and objectives are achieved. Set performance objectives and incorporate feedback from the team and organization for continuous improvement.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to commercial projects personnel. Manage and coordinate activities of commercial and project teams to ensure the activities progress in scope, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Ensure the scope of work is included in commercial or project protocols and protocols are executed according to the established project requirements and timelines.
  • Assist with material introductions, requesting and disseminating test samples, review and approval of protocols, specifications, and support vendor interactions as necessary to complete material introductions.
  • Track material and document introductions and revisions through internal document routing systems.
  • Manage SAP master data for inventory materials including in planning, process orders, and customer sales orders.
  • Understand and comply with all Kavis Pharma LLC safety, environmental and quality practices, and procedures as outlined in organizational/departmental guidelines and SOPs as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations.
  • Perform job functions in accordance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), federal and state laws, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, health authority regulations, and departmental processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • QUALIFICATIONS

    The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    KNOWLEDGE

    Must possess knowledge of account/project management concepts, practices, and procedures. Must possess a solid working knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain industry.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Must possess excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication, interpersonal, planning, problem solving, and project management skills. Must possess a strong work ethic and have good organization, time management, and decision-making skills. Must have strong computer skills and be proficient within the Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with enterprise resource planning systems.

    SUPERVISION

    Position functions autonomously.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Minimum of a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 2-4 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

    Project Management Certification preferred but not required.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to review and edit comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence. Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts. Ability to present to a group of departments.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to perform computations such as percentages, ratios, and rates.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to solve problems with complex variables through non-standardized solutions that require independent judgment and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and use deductive reasoning with no prescribed procedures to solve complex problems.
