In this position you will be reporting to the Supervisor, Producibility / Quality Engineering. As the Principal Quality Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for managing production quality launches; liaison design for manufacturing assessment, complete Manufacturing Process Review Survey, as well as Process Risk Assessment and complete Robust Process Improvement Projects, ensure control plan release in time and implementation; and ensuring all products shipped meet all Customer dimensional, material and systems specifications or documented deviations to those specifications.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Project Management of Program Quality efforts to include, but not be limited to action item project management, verification of objective evidence, and measurement of effectiveness.
  • Site focal for Program Quality efforts to include communications (daily, weekly, and monthly) and reporting, integration with quality clinics and other organizational vehicles, and read across.
  • Completion, effectiveness measurement, and verification of objective evidence of current and active Program Quality Actions.
  • Maintain Program Quality compliance tracking: Maintain Program Quality compliance status tracking using specified templates, attend weekly Program Quality meetings and translate all new Program Quality requirements into tangible actions. Maintain and update all Program Quality slides on a weekly basis.
  • Manufacturing Process Reviews (MPRs): Set stage and lead monthly MPR events. Coordinate completion of resulting actions with cross-functional teams and designated action owners. Provide an update in weekly Program Quality meetings.
  • Interpreting PFMEAs and determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain MRP Actions: Update MPR action list for new actions, action closures, and updates on those in process.
  • Capture and read across Completion of Program Quality Best Practices: Program Quality Tracker to show 100% complete status (excluding newly added actions items).
  • Support QIP (Quality Improvement Plan) and adhering to Quality Management System standard per AS9100 for the aerospace industry, which ensures consistent product quality, risk management, and continual improvement.
  • Support the improvement of Customer Scorecard and obtain green quality scorecard status by addressing KPIs and closing gaps.
  • Manage and lead Quality investigations internally and with the customer, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and timely resolution.
  • Program Quality Site Management. Creation, implementation, and execution of several key impact points over the duration of the project, with the Site Quality Manager, Program Quality Manager, and Site Focal working together to determine project timelines and key reporting strategies.
  • Work with Supplier Quality to ensure vertical and horizontal integration for Program Quality efforts between the individual sites and supply chain.
  • Facilitate needed Program Quality training in its various methods.
  • Support additional customer programs beyond assigned program role and expand program coverage, as necessary.


Work Experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 15 years of relevant experience is required.
  • University degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Product Design or Stress Analysis, Material Technology preferred).
  • Related work experience in a Design and Manufacturing environment (Aerospace or Automotive preferred).
  • ASQ "Certified Quality Engineer" certification an asset.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings / CATIA Model and math data including geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Working knowledge of statistical techniques.
  • Strong technical background in CNC machining and NADCAP special processes.
  • Proficient with RED "X" or similar root cause analyzing tools, SPC, Six Sigma techniques, Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA and DOE.
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical abilities
  • Sound computer skills. Knowledge of Teamcentre, SAP and open for learning / adopting new type of software environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently delivery on critical mission in multi-task/ fast-paced team environment.
  • Successful candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP.
