Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager, Business Development is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, partnerships, and strategies to drive Avet's revenue growth. This role involves market analysis, relationship building with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders, as well as maintaining and expanding existing business relationships. The Sr. Manager, Business Development, works closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, legal, regulatory affairs and R&D to support the company's strategic goals. Must travel as required (domestic and international) for business meetings, conferences, and partnerships.

Reporting Relationships

  • This position is an individual contributor.


Essential Functions:

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the company's portfolio.
  • Analyze customer needs and competitor offerings to position the company effectively.
  • Identify, evaluate and negotiate strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), distributors and healthcare providers.
  • Drive sales and revenue growth through the identification of new businesses opportunities and clients.
  • Work with the sales team to ensure smooth transition of new business opportunities and meet financial objectives.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure favorable terms for the company. Collaborate with legal to ensure compliance with regulations and finalize partnership agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (i.e. Sales, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, etc.) to ensure that business opportunities align with the company's capabilities and product portfolio.
  • Track and report on business development activities, including progress towards targets, partnership outcomes, and market trends.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, leads, and contracts.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on progress and opportunities.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes, industry trends, and innovations that could impact the pharmaceutical business landscape.
  • Build a robust network of industry professionals and key business contacts to open doors to new opportunities and collaborations.


Specialized Skills and Knowledge:

  • BS degree in business or related field is required. MBA is a plus.
  • 5 + years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships within the pharmaceutical industry required. Experience in licensing, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) or strategic partnership a plus.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, competitor activities, and financial data to make informed business decisions.
  • Ability to analyze and track return on investments (ROI) with data to support it.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
