ABOUT THE ROLE
The Assistant Director, Development & Regional Events, plays a leading role in the production, planning, and fundraising of BCRF's Regional Fundraising Events. The role currently assumes responsibility for events including a black-tie fundraiser, luncheons and educational symposiums, and other strategic organizational event opportunities. This position's responsibilities include high-level event production and management, staff and vendor oversight, financial management, and front-line fundraising in conjunction with event leadership. The Assistant Director, Development & Regional Events will report to the Managing Director, Development, Events & Stewardship. The Assistant Director, Development & Regional Events supervises the Development & Events Assistant.
This position is based in New York, New York. BCRF currently requires staff to work onsite a minimum of three days per week.

Compensation and Benefits:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all regional event planning including
- Secure dates and venues for all events
- Work closely with Development & Events (D&E) leadership to manage key event stakeholders including donors, volunteers, and committee members
- Create and lead event fundraising strategy, run of show, and production components with vendors, partners, and department leadership including event script, seating, PR plan and more
- Ensure event timelines (planning and day of) are comprehensive and executed to the highest level
- Work with event leadership on fundraising plans and management of personalized invitation lists and outreach
- Manage relationships with event corporate sponsors in regional markets to execute benefits, activation plans, and engagement opportunities
- Work closely with Manager, Development & Events Project Manager on the production of all event invitations, communications, and additional collateral
- With the Manager, Development & Events Project Manager, ensure strategic information is captured and displayed through the oversight of unique event microsites
- Work closely with D&E Leadership, Research, and the Marketing & Communications teams in planning symposia programming, and lead outreach and communication to researchers/speakers
- Oversee production and the seamless execution of regional events including
- Create and manage event timelines and day of event staffing
- Oversee vendor management
- Key voice in overall event design, strategy, and execution within each regional market
- Oversee event itineraries for all VIP speakers, researchers, staff, and event participants, while being mindful of cost implications for the organization, with support from the Development & Events Assistant
- Provide management for the following functions
- Supervise, train and mentor the Development & Events Assistant
- Oversee all Regional Events vendors and identify, hire, and oversee additional vendors as necessary
- Manage event budgets and strategic fundraising tools including projected gift pyramids, renewal tracking, and additional analytic reports
- Assume other duties as assigned

In addition, you have the following qualifications and experience:
- Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible event management and production experience; experience working in event management for a nonprofit organization preferred
- Minimum of four years of experience supervising staff
- Computer and internet proficient, with the ability to learn proprietary computer databases
- Proficiency with donor CRM systems with a strong competency in Raiser's Edge
- Highly skilled in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Exercise judgment and make important decisions when dealing with the Foundation's volunteer event leadership and on-site during events
- Prioritize tasks effectively demonstrate initiative, and independently manage projects from start to finish
- Think strategically and perform across the event planning and fundraising spectrum, including prospect identification, sponsorship proposal creation and donor stewardship
- Build and sustain productive relationships with a wide range of constituents
- Manage and work diplomatically with varying committees and sponsors
- Communicate effectively and graciously orally and in writing.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Ability to lift, move or carry up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis; ability to push or pull a cart weighing up to 100 pounds
Travel:
