Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work to produce detailed, accurate cost estimates
  • Break down all project costs including labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and subcontractor quotes
  • Prepare and present polished bid proposals aligned with project requirements and client expectations
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to align budget, timeline, and execution plans
  • Assist with the handoff from estimation to execution to ensure seamless project initiation
  • Maintain accurate documentation of estimates, contracts, and client communications
  • Stay informed on industry pricing, regulations, and competitor activity to enhance bid strategy
  • Support sales growth by attending networking events, trade shows, and developing key client relationships
  • Report to senior management on bid outcomes, business opportunities, and market trends


Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in commercial and/or industrial construction estimating
  • Proven ability to generate leads, manage client accounts, and close bids/deals
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of construction systems, codes, and standards
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Timberline, Sage, RS Means or similar)
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Certifications in Estimating, Project Management, or Electrical Systems are a plus
  • Familiarity with federal regulations, labor standards, and government bid platforms

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday to Friday - In-person role with occasional travel for client meetings or site visits.

Work Location:
Office-based position with some travel to client locations, job sites, and industry events.
