BASIC PURPOSE AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will report to the Director of Sales for JVC Kenwood USA Corporation, is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating dealer representative organizations engaged in the sale and promotion of Kenwood Company products within the respective region. You will develop and coordinate the implementation of regional sales promotion, advertising, training, and merchandising programs. Gathers information on regional competitive activity and overall market conditions within the assigned product group.
MAJOR DUTIES
Plans, directs, and coordinates dealer representative organizations engaged in the sale and promotion of designated Company products within an assigned region covering a broad geographical area and generating a very large business volume. Projects future business activity and participates in the development of the marketing plan covering the assigned product group and for its implementation within the region. Conducts on-site visits of dealer representative organizations to determine competitive activity within the area covered, review status of current sales efforts, to resolve problems, and to ensure that marketing goals are achieved. Develops and coordinates advertising, sales training, and sales promotional activity within the region to promote the sale of Company products. Plans and conducts periodic sales meetings to educate, train, and stimulate sales production. Allocates products to dealers on the basis of territorial requirements and to maximize product impact. Provides guidance and technical direction to regional sales organizations within the region, resolves problems, and interprets Company policy. Prepares sales reports and analyzes and interprets variations in sales forecasts and quotas, and actual sales. Responsible for assisting and resolving chargebacks or authorized deductions and correct amounts due to Kenwood. Independently performs a wide range of clerical duties in support of personal sales activity, including typing correspondence and organizing, initiating, and maintaining files. Manages and organizes a retail distribution network to maximize company sales within the region and institutes changes to meet current Company objectives.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
6-8 years of experience in a Consumer Electronics work environment and possess the knowledge of retail sales management techniques including merchandising, selling strategies, inventory management, and advertising. Must have thorough knowledge of the assigned product group, the dynamics of the regional environment, and be able to gain an understanding of the Company overall sales direction. Must have highly developed written and verbal sales skills and be able to organize and implement sales programs within a very large and complex region. University courses in sales and/or marketing would be desirable plus 7 years' experience, preferably within the Electronics Wholesale industry.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Director of Sales for JVC Kenwood USA Corporation and interacts with Company departments such as Administration, Finance, and Warehouse, to resolve administrative problems. Coordinates with retail dealers and advertising agencies to coordinate sales programs within a large region.
PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING
Determines allocation of models and quantities for key accounts within the assigned region. Selects creative advertising to maximize sales activity. Plans distribution for each product category.
