Job Description
The Software Engineer will join the R&D, Software Applications team, focusing on creating software applications and solutions. The role involves integrating data from the backend through APIs, developing custom tools, and creating DevOps solutions. The candidate will rewrite source code in Python, push data to front-end databases, and create visualizations using the person. Additionally, the role includes converting data from Excel spreadsheets to a database.
Responsibilities
Location Preferences: Hybrid, Ottawa (onsite 2-3 days a week). Remote candidates will be considered if no local candidates are found. Team: R&D, Software Applications.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.

Job Description
The Software Engineer will join the R&D, Software Applications team, focusing on creating software applications and solutions. Additionally, the role includes converting data from Excel spreadsheets to a database.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular builds, providing methods for code submission and reviews.
- Focus on operations rather than product code development.
- Support metrics and security aspects that developers rely on.
- Build with security in mind and automate tests.
- Integrate data from the backend through APIs.
- Develop custom tools and create DevOps solutions.
- Rewrite source code in Python and push data to front-end databases.
- Create visualizations using the person and convert data from Excel spreadsheets to a database.
- 2-6 years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or Software Applications Engineering.
- Strong Python coding skills.
- Experience developing DevOps solutions.
- Experience working in a security field (1+ year) or possessing security certifications from schooling.
- Experience working with databases.
- Proficiency with Git.
- Experience with Jira.
- Experience with Jenkins pipelines.
- Front-end software development in Angular.
- Experience with the person for analytics metrics visualization.
- Knowledge of Black Duck and Coverity tools and APIs.
- Telecom or Networking experience.
