Job Description: Provide programming, website, and software development support for multiple programs at the NASA Langley research Center. Early-to-mid-career computer scientists are encouraged to apply to bring their programming expertise to the NASA mission. Responsibilities include the development and maintenance of a form-based website for a NASA organization that tracks work products as they progress through the organization's review process; develop and maintain website for archiving drawings, manuals, and calibration data associated with the machines and instruments in NASA's Materials Research Laboratory; and create Python-based desktop application that is used by researchers to produce publication quality plots from the database of Mechanical Property data belong to NASA's Carbon-Carbon laboratory.

The ideal candidate will possess capabilities and expertise across a range of software languages including C, C++, Fortran, Java, JavaScript, HTML, Ruby, and Python, and familiarity with UNIX, Windows NT, and Mac OS X operating systems. Software systems that are relevant to these requirements include Subversion, MySQL, Java Swing, Ruby on Rails, MatLab, ABAQUS, PATRAN, and HyperSizer.
