Location: Brooklyn, NY
Salary: $133k-$170k depending on experience, Union role with benefits.
Schedule: 12-hour nights or flexible shifts, 3 days a week, totaling 12 shifts per month. Required to work 2 weekends each month.

Physician Assistant - Cardiology/Medicine - 1199 Union Role
Location: Brooklyn, NY

Responsibilities :
- Performs duties as per the Department/Division "Physician Assistant Delineation of Privileges" after appropriate training and approval by the Chairman.
- With approval of supervising physician, orders diagnostic and laboratory tests. Reports results of all clinical and diagnostic findings to supervising physician and with him/her, communicates results of medical examination to patients.
- Formulates appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans, writes appropriate orders.
- Performs procedures on patients as defined in the Department/Division Delineation of Privileges.
- Documents all diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and other relevant information in patient's chart.
- Notifies attending physician of any change of patient's status or unexpected events requiring direct physician consultation.
- Participates in patient care rounds, teaching conferences and appropriate quality assurance meetings.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, compliance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Obtains arterial and venous access and/or cannulation of arteries or veins for procedures.
- Assists in right and left heart interventions.
- Assists in intracoronary interventions.
- Assists in Intravascular diagnostic and interventional procedures (i.e. renal, peripheral procedures). Document preliminary results of procedures in progress notes as discussed with attending.
- Assists in placement of temporary/permanent pacemakers.
- Care for patient's pre and post cardiac/vascular procedures, including preadmission testing; document in progress notes as to findings.
- Assists in interrogation of pacemakers, AICD.
- Assists in EP studies, ablations and placement of PPM & AICDs.
- Participates in resuscitation and emergent procedures as deemed necessary.
- Performs/Assists in other procedures as deemed appropriate by the supervising physician.
Requirements:
- Two years' experience in Cardiology preferred.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited PA program.
- Licensed by the NY State Department of Education.
- Board certified by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification for Physicians Assistant).
- BCLS certification, ACLS certification if departmental requirement.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (Stroke only).
- Valid DEA number.
