Department Overview

The office of Organizational Development is responsible for providing guidance, resources, and consulting services in many areas of organizational effectiveness and change as well as leadership and management development. Services provided include assessment of system-wide effectiveness, work unit morale, and individual leadership effectiveness plus a wide variety of interventions such as coaching, help with strategic planning, team building, conflict management and other methods designed to improve organizational and team effectiveness.

Position Summary

The OD&L Manager is responsible for leading and executing professional and leadership development strategies that align with Children's Minnesota's mission, vision, and strategic priorities. This role will serve as a player-coach, balancing direct execution of OD & L&D initiatives with mentorship and coaching of the OD&L team. The OD&L Manager will provide expertise in organization development, leadership development, and learning strategies while ensuring execution of key programs such as Annual Mandatory Training (AMT), New Employee Orientation (NEO), and Leading the Children's Way. This role will play a key part in enhancing the organization's leadership capabilities, strengthening OD & L&D competencies within the team, and supporting key enterprise initiatives.

This is a remote based role that comes with occasional need to be in-person / on-site (

Qualifications:

Education:

*Bachelor's degree required in Organization Development or related field (Master's preferred)

Experience:

*Minimum of 7 years of experience in Organization Development, Learning & Development, or a related field

*Experience in managing or mentoring OD & L&D professional

*Strong experience in adult learning theory, instructional design, facilitation, and leadership development

*Demonstrated experience in change management, performance management, and organizational development

*Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization, including senior leader

*Strong project management skills with the ability to execute multiple, complex initiatives simultaneously

*Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems, and virtual learning tool

Responsibilities:

*Lead, coach, and support OD&L team members, providing ongoing feedback, performance coaching and development planning

*Promote psychological safety, collaboration, and shared learning within the team

*Orchestrate mentorship and onboarding for new team member

*Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of enterprise learning and OD program

*Ensure alignment of programs with organizational goals and strategic initiative

*Manage timelines, deliverables, and scope across multiple concurrent initiative

*Support adoption and sustainability of implemented program

*Act as a thought partner to HR leaders and business leaders on topics such as culture, leadership effectiveness, change management, team development, and engagement

*Leverage organization development theories and principles to diagnose and build tailored intervention

*Leverage data and insights to inform OD strategies and improve program

*Lead and oversee cross-functional OD&L projects from planning through execution and evaluation

*Apply project management tools and methodology to drive progress, accountability and alignment

*Manage project communication strategies and stakeholder engagement

*Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to learning, performance, and engagement

*Ensure the team maintains accurate records and uses data to tell a meaningful story

*Leverage continuous improvement methodologies to address inefficiencies and create standard and scalable processe

*Build strong relationships with other HR COEs, operational leaders and executive sponsor

*Effectively influence across levels to support culture and behavioral change

*Prioritize team resources based on organizational needs, anticipating and resolving capacity restraint

*Support budgeting, staffing proposals, and vendor/consultant coordination as needed

*Apply change management principles to OD&L initiative

*Support change readiness planning and communication strategies for enterprise effort

*Help build internal change capability across departments and functions

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
