Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited school of Vocational Nursing

Description:
Provides nursing care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
Adheres to the legal scope of practice and established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
Integrates education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from patients and their support groups.
Exercises sound judgment and developed clinical skills to implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner.
Supports the functionality of the department by distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed.
Maintains compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures.
Performs patient care activities, considering the age-related needs of the patient.
Assists medical personnel with special procedures and diagnostic exams.
Assesses and monitors patients' conditions and notifies appropriate healthcare professionals as necessary.
Reports unusual findings and collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop individualized plans of care.
Monitors patients' progress and ensures care meets standards of practice.
Prepares for and assists in a variety of medical procedures and patient examinations.
Keeps healthcare team members informed regarding patient responses.
Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established time frames.
Prepares and administers medications as directed by physician orders.
Monitors patient flow and directs ancillary personnel as needed.
Explains and educates patients on medical processes and procedures in a professional manner.
Mentors and fosters a constructive environment for students and new LVNs.
Performs general clerical tasks, including updating patient appointments and maintaining electronic health records.
Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment.
Inspects and calibrates equipment for proper operation.
Maintains the strictest confidentiality of patient protected health information.
Performs quality care in compliance with department standards and regulatory agencies.
Retains certification and completes continuing education requirements to meet regulatory agency standards.
Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing skills and medical terminology.
Possesses written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly.
Exhibits well-developed time management and organizational skills.
Works independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks in an interrupted environment.
