As a Principal Communications Designer specializing in product demos, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how PayPal showcases its innovative products and services to key stakeholders. You will lead the design and creative direction of compelling product demos for critical events, including executive leadership meetings, investor presentations, board of directors, and employee-facing events and programs.

About the Role

As a Principal Communications Designer specializing in product demos, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how PayPal showcases its innovative products and services to key stakeholders. You will lead the design and creative direction of compelling product demos for critical events, including executive leadership meetings, investor presentations, board of directors, and employee-facing events and programs. This role will help establish an internal product demo capability, driving strategic alignment and enhancing the impact of our product presentations. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, finance, and communications teams to create visually stunning and engaging experiences that effectively communicate the value of PayPal's offerings, directly influencing the perception of PayPal's innovation at the highest levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive product demo strategy for key events aligned with PayPal's overall business objectives.
  • Conceptualize and build high-quality interactive demos that showcase product capabilities and user experiences.
  • Craft compelling narratives that showcase the value and impact of PayPal's products and services, translating complex technical concepts into clear and engaging stories.
  • Tailor product demos and delivery to resonate with PayPal's key stakeholders, including employees, the Board of Directors, and shareholders.
  • Ensure all product demos maintain consistent branding and messaging.
  • Continuously source new technologies and approaches, including AI tools, to enhance product demo design and effectiveness.
  • Create playbooks, training programs, and workshops to empower teams across the company to create effective demos.
  • Present demos, and train others to present demos, to a wide range of audiences.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and sales teams to understand product functionality and target audience needs.
  • Design and develop presentation materials that effectively communicate product vision and features.
  • Build reusable demo templates and components for team efficiency.
  • Ensure demos are adaptable for different presentation contexts (live presentations, self-guided experiences, etc.).
  • Stay current with design trends and presentation technologies.

Requisite Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience applying product design principles, user experience (UX) best practices, and interactive design strategies into designing and creating products that provide great experiences to customers.
  • Experience crafting compelling narratives that showcase the value and impact of products and services.
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision) and the ability to create visually stunning and engaging product demos.
  • Deep understanding of PayPal's suite of products and services.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience managing and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Portfolio of product demo work is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript for interactive prototypes.
  • Experience with presentation software (PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.).


Preferred Skills
  • Experience with motion graphics and animation.
  • Knowledge of video editing and production.
  • Familiarity with prototyping tools (Framer, Principle, ProtoPie).
  • Experience designing for technical or SaaS products.
  • Public speaking or presentation experience.
  • Background in instructional design or educational content.
