SUMMARY
Responsible for directing the daily operations of General Accounting and Disbursements. Directs hospital activities concerned with financial administration, general accounting, statistical reporting, and patient business services. Prepares detailed financial statements, budgets, cost and statistical reports. May have administrative responsibility for the data processing function and/or provide information to various committees of the hospital board.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attends selected medical staff meetings and develops relationships with members of the medical staff. Works with the medical staff and medical management staff on utilization review issues. Identifies and monitors physician utilization trends. Demonstrates understanding of health care industry and market dynamics, trends, competitors, regulations and managed health care environment in our primary, secondary patients. Determines how to prevent or sustain the financial impact of key operational changes. Works with departments or leaders with contracts, revenue cycle issues, budgets and business plans. Monitors the use of spending policy, restricted funds and grants. Supports decision making of daily operational changes that may impact financials. Prepares, analyzes and collaborates with others in developing financial preforms for business opportunities. Demonstrates outstanding financial skills. Responsible for reviewing, analyzing and interpreting the results of operations while working with senior staff to achieve targeted results. Provides direction on how to utilize tools and set budgets. Works with CFO to finalize the budget and to develop strategies and alternatives to keep bottom line whole. Understands and can easily and clearly articulate the fiscal, demographic and market trends. Works with clinical leaders to perform forecasting. Assisting with the development of operational strategic analysis in support of clinical operations. Reviews and helps prioritize requests for financial analysis or reports. If urgent need, initiate data request to appropriate data source. Oversees Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Accounting Assist the VP/CFO and administration with specific projects as assigned. Coordinates preparation of year-end tax returns, quarterly payroll tax reports, third party cost reports and other reports as required by law. Responsible for developing, performing, and maintaining internal audit functions and systems. Responsible for reviewing and evaluating the work performance subordinates in the Finance department Provides counseling, discipline and training as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A) from four-year College or university in accounting; plus five to eight years related hospital accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Bachelor's degree; CPA or Master's preferred.
