Employees accrue 23.75 to 36 vacation days per year depending on length of service. The maximum accrual limit is 360 hours.

Inventory Specialist- Purchasing & Payables
If You Have:
- Strength in leadership, ethics, problem-solving, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, and cultural competency.
- The ability to effectively plan, organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines; strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
- A working knowledge and experience in managing and handling auto and/or heavy equipment machinery parts and inventories (preferably vehicle, bus, semi-truck or heavy equipment).
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills, working in an environment of respect, trust, and self-accountability.
- Experience working with vendor payables.
- Experience maintaining inventory best practices.
Examples of Duties
As an Inventory Specialist, you will:
- Compile purchase orders, invoices, and shipping receipts for submission to the Finance Department for payment.
- Complete daily fuel reconciliations as needed, including the ability to research and correct errors and maintain accurate fueling/odometer readings for agency fleet.
- Create ad hoc reports using available data in our financial systems.
- Prepare inventory data for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting requirements. Ensures that required reports are in compliance with established audit standards.
- Respond to external accounts payable inquiries.
- Apply critical thinking skills to the procurement of materials, tools, parts, and equipment in support of Agency Vehicle Maintenance and Facilities divisions.
- Order and receive parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintains centralized shipping and receiving area.
- Complete warehouse spot checks and analyzes discrepancies.
- Create and process purchase orders for maintenance and facilities inventory and supplies.
- Operate forklift and other equipment in the handling of heavy equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Prepare for and participate in the bi-annual physical inventory as well as periodic evaluations.
Typical Qualifications

- An Associate's Degree
- Three (3) years of experience in purchasing, auto/truck/bus parts, or inventory control or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and possess 10 key proficiencies.
- Must submit to a criminal background check the results of which must meet hiring criteria for the role.
