Description:

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for collaborating and providing leadership with cross functional teams to ensure:
  • Quality objectives are met
  • Continuous improvement activities are initiated and brought to close
  • Appropriate communication channels and metrics (KPI's) are developed between external and internal customers and suppliers.
  • Structured problem solving techniques are trained to and utilized by Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality by providing leadership to proactively promote and contribute to continuous improvement and to meet customer requirements.
  • MRB and CAPA processes are meeting KPI's.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement systems and procedures that assure product and process conformance is in compliance with Quality Standards (ISO9001/AS9100)
  • Review supporting manufacturing documentation to ensure it contains necessary provisions to permit effective material inspection and testing
  • Recommend corrective actions for procedural, product or process deficiencies. Assist with root cause analysis efforts, determine corrective actions and facilitate implementation
  • Participate in non-conforming material failure analysis activities, initiate Corrective Actions when appropriate, and ensure customer requirements are adequately addressed
  • Analyze customer complaints/ returned products and recommend corrective actions
  • Perform ISO 9000 and internal audits; play key role in customer/surveillance/compliance audits
  • Participate in customer surveys, and source inspections as required
  • Manage the Supplier qualification process; lead corrective actions related to supplier performance; improve process for supplier data submission to eliminate internal inspections
  • Support New Product Introduction and New Process Introduction teams and activities to ensure they meet customer requirements and specifications
  • Develop, execute, and analyze quality reporting metrics
  • Provide training and support to the rest of the organization on the quality system, quality tools (pareto charts, SPC, structured problem solving, etc.) and related topics
  • Perform all other related duties and assignments as required

Minimum Job Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Quality or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science)
  • A minimum of5 years of relevant experience in the electronics, microelectronics, PCB or plating industries


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills with a CQI framework
  • Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistical process control
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection control methods and techniques
  • Competence in performing root cause analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of quality systems such as ISO9001, policies and procedures and the ability to apply that knowledge to the interpretation of customer requirements
  • Strong background in the use and understanding of key manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Familiar with AS9102, ANSI-ASME 14.5M, Applicability of ANSI-ASQ-Z1.4
  • Ability to use hand-held measuring tools and CMM (including programming)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and related statistical software (Minitab, JMP, All Clear, etc)

Qualifications Preferred (may be part of growth plan):

  • Experience with Thick Film printing ceramic substrates is highly desirable
  • CQE or other ASQ professional certifications is desirable
  • AS9100 experience is desirable
  • Knowledgeable of MIL-STD-883-2 and MIL-PRF-38534
