Senior Developer Architect

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of ongoing architecture changes to an API platform.
• Coach and mentor development team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and ensure the platform meets their requirements.
• Optimize the performance of the platform, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Oversee the deployment and management of cloud-based solutions, ensuring best practices in cloud architecture and security.
• Design and document APIs, ensuring adherence to best practices for RESTful services.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes and data integration workflows.
• Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with federal regulations and standards.
• Set up and maintain monitoring tools to track the performance and health of the platform.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8-10 years of experience in software development and architecture.
• Proven experience in leading architecture changes and guiding development teams.
• Strong customer interaction skills with a focus on understanding and addressing customer needs.
• Expertise in AWS with a strong understanding of tools like RDS, ECS, EC2, Margate, SQS, and SNS.
• Proficiency in Node.js, Python, and PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining APIs and asynchronous workflows.
• Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data integration techniques, and tools.
• In-depth understanding of security best practices, including Secure by Design principles, and experience with compliance requirements for federal agencies.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and modern development practices (e.g., DevSecOps, Agile methodologies).
• Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Experience with productivity and collaboration tools (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, GitLab, GitHub).
• Strong understanding of security principles and practices, including Secure by Design principles.
• Experience with authority to operate (ATO) processes and compliance requirements.
• Existing public trust high or better, or the ability to obtain one.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
