Description:
Intellect Resources is seeking a Fractional Chief Financial Officer for a long term, remote, contract for a Credit Union. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the credit union's financial strategy, planning, reporting, and risk management. Ensuring the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization, while supporting long-term strategic goals and sustainable growth. This role requires a hands-on and engaged leader with strong analytical skills and deep knowledge of credit union operations, ALM (Asset Liability Management), and regulatory frameworks.Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Oversee all financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement
- Oversee preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and GAAP/NCUA accounting standards
- Manage treasury and cash management activities, including investments and liquidity
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors based on financial analysis and projections
- Direct and develop financial and accounting teams, promoting a culture of performance and accountability
- Monitor and manage financial risks, including interest rate risk and credit risk
- Oversee audits, examinations, and relationships with external auditors and regulators
- Collaborate with other executives to evaluate product pricing, service expansion, and operational efficiency
- Lead initiatives in capital planning, merger/acquisition evaluations, and technology investments related to financial operations
Qualifications:
- MUST have experience working as a CFO at a Credit Union
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Deep knowledge of credit union operations, financial services, and regulatory compliance (NCUA, FDIC, etc.)
- Proven track record of strategic financial leadership and ability to develop teams
- Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to engage effectively with the Board and executive team
- Proficiency in financial software, data analysis tools, and core banking system
