Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner / Business Analyst (BA) with a strong background in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance within the Commercial Lines sector. The ideal candidate will drive the product vision, collaborate with stakeholders, and define requirements to enhance insurance products and digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership & Strategy:
  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for P&C Commercial Lines Insurance products.
  • Prioritize the backlog and manage the product lifecycle to align with business objectives.
  • Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, claims, and IT teams to design, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the P&C insurance industry.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management:
  • Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements for new product features and enhancements.
  • Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflows to guide development teams.
  • Work with actuarial and underwriting teams to refine risk models, pricing strategies, and policy management solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
  • Act as a bridge between business teams, technology teams, and external vendors to deliver high-quality insurance solutions.
  • Conduct workshops and facilitate discussions with stakeholders to understand pain points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Present product updates, reports, and insights to senior management and key stakeholders.
Technology & Implementation Support:
  • Partner with developers, QA testers, and DevOps teams to ensure successful implementation of insurance platforms and digital tools.
  • Provide UAT (User Acceptance Testing) support and assist with change management and training efforts.
  • Optimize workflows in policy administration, claims management, and underwriting systems.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner / Business Analyst in P&C insurance (Commercial Lines).
  • Strong understanding of policy administration, underwriting, claims, and billing processes.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Rally.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulations (ISO, NAIC, Lloyd's, etc.) and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Guidewire, Duck Creek, OneShield, Majesco, or similar P&C insurance platforms.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, SQL, reporting tools, and APIs is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner certification.
  • Experience with AI/ML, InsurTech, and digital transformation projects in insurance.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.
