This position will be responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining United Parks & Resorts' tax strategy and policy to complement business operations and initiatives. This individual will manage all outside tax advisors and oversee and be the key liaison for a variety of tax functions across the company. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.

- Management and oversight of all national tax-related activity, including income taxes, sales and use taxes, property taxes and other domestic taxes
- Tax planning and strategic initiatives
- Corporate tax accounting in accordance with accounting standards
- Management of tax compliance and filings
- Management and oversight of domestic tax-related audits
- Maintenance of tax-related controls in compliance with SOX 404
- Lead and oversee the Company's risk management activities including relationships with brokers.
- Forecast future cash needs to ensure Company's daily cash requirements are met
- Ensure that the department follows all the standard rules and policies
- Lead efforts for any debt transactions
- Maintain relationships with credit rating agencies
- Other special projects and tax related research
What it takes to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Tax
- Master's degree in Accounting or MBA
- Certified Public Accountant
- 7 or more years of corporate tax and/or public accounting experience, preferably in the tax department of a medium to large publicly-traded company
- Significant direct experience related to complex tax environments achieved through increasing levels of requisite career experience and exposure in a corporate tax setting
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Tax regulations
- Robust understanding of international and multi-state structuring and transfer pricing analysis
- Ability to lead tax planning processes and other strategic initiatives at a companywide level
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization, as well as with external advisors
- Strong communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a team environment
- Excellent analytical, financial, and mathematical skills with attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
