We are seeking a Chief Capital Officer who will be accountable for the direction and overall performance of the organization's capital raising strategy. This role ensures that the capital raising strategy is effectively implemented to meet financial objectives, attract and retain investors, manage risk, and foster growth.

Key Responsibilities
1. Capital Strategy
- Develop and oversee Basecamp's retail and institutional capital raising strategies
- Manage and monitor the performance of the organization's capital portfolio, adjusting as necessary to meet financial objectives and market conditions.
- Lead the development of policies and procedures to ensure best practices in equity raising.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on capital performance and strategic plans to stakeholders.
- Ensure regulatory compliance.
2. Team Leadership and Development
- Lead a team of finance, investment and sales professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance and investment teams.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Foster strong internal relationships across departments.
3. Relationship Building and Communication
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to secure and enhance capital opportunities.
- Regularly communicate with investors and stakeholders to provide updates on performance and strategic direction.
- Organize and participate in investor meetings and conferences to promote the organization's capital strategies and objectives.
- Cultivate a network of industry contacts to stay informed about market trends, opportunities, and best practices.
- Engage with community and industry organizations to build the organization's reputation and network.
4. Negotiation and Representation
- Negotiate terms and conditions of major capital deals and contracts with investors and financial partners.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, meetings, and other public engagements to enhance visibility and attract potential investors.
Requirements
- Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (required).
- Master's degree (e.g., MBA or Master's in Finance) strongly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) required or strongly preferred.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in senior leadership roles focused on capital raising, investment strategy, or financial services.
- Deep understanding of equity raising through wealth management/wealth advisor channels.
- Demonstrated experience raising funds from both retail and institutional investors.
- Strong track record in developing capital strategies, leading teams, and managing investor relationships.
- Advanced understanding of regulatory compliance and capital markets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Additional relevant certifications are considered an asset.
