As the leader of the HEM Discipline Management Group, you will help to make the company more innovative and competitive. HEM Discipline Management group improves our engineering tools and reshaping associated practices. The HEM process referent is responsible for defining, maintaining, and implementing the HEM Process to be applied across all the different Departments within HEM and projects, as well as tools setup. While looking for continuous improvements, the HEM process referent ensures measures and techniques being applied are homogeneous at department level, and in compliance with the latest CENELEC standards. The HEM process referent is also responsible for the CENELEC competency management of the department (from training to competency assessment).

Key Accountabilities:

  • Look for continuous improvements in terms of measures and techniques applied.
  • Participates actively to cross functional workshops
  • Focal point for process interface into the other technical departments
  • Interface to DDQS process owner or other discipline process referent to drive and support process changes / adjustments / clarifications
  • Represents URS HEM CC and interface with MLS/ GTS HEM process owners in order to consolidate processes within GTS
  • Leads the HEM transformation through the use of Polarion
  • Responsible for the CENELEC competency management
  • Ensures the E2 environment setup for the HEM team members.
  • Participates actively in the E2 environment setup and deployment.
  • Participates in the process and environment setup definition with GTS.
  • Tracks and manages licenses required within HEM.
  • Ensure homogeneity in the HEM processes applied across all projects:
  • Process compliance monitoring: monitor the application of the plans on a sampling basis through regular audits + corresponding reporting
  • Support and guide WPM in DDQS review preparation and achievement if needed.
  • Act as a change management agent:
  • Create and maintain training materials, user documentation.
  • Provide end user training and technical support.
  • Follow user feedback and constant evolution of tools to propose the best solution.
  • Ensures KPIs and Lessons Learned are conducted and flown down for improvements:
  • Provide the HEM community with valuable data to monitor portfolios & projects: On-time delivery (OTD) KPI,
  • Estimate attributes (EA) KPI, Project Efficiency / Root causes analysis / CONQ KPI,
  • Conducts Lessons Learned and coordinates implementation of improvements.


Key Requirements:
  • 8 years relevant working experience
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, System Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of railway signaling technologies, including SelTrac CBTC
  • Strong concrete experience of CENELEC 5012x application in CBTC industry
  • Ability to interface with important customer leadership and project leadership
  • Must be able to communicate clearly complex situations to different stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Knowledgeable of the hardware and embedded middleware engineering development processes
  • Knowledge of HW development tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; English speaking mandatory
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
