The Google Store is the online and retail destination for the latest Google hardware and services. Our team is dedicated to creating an e-commerce experience that extends beyond the initial purchase. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software systems and features that improve the customer journey, build loyalty, provide effective support pathways, and ultimately help customers get the most value out of their Google products. You will work on critical systems that directly impact user satisfaction and long-term engagement with Google's hardware ecosystem.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in Java, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
- Experience with API design and development.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, SQL, visualization tools, and debugging.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.

Responsibilities
- Write high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code primarily in Java.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability, and contribute to the overall architecture and design of the Google Store platform.
- Build and manage scalable, reliable backend services within a micro-services architecture.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software systems and features on the Google Store platform.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
