Hearst is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst to join the Finance Process and Technology team, supporting the organization's financial systems and business processes. This individual will play a key role in collaborating with both technical and functional teams, as well as business stakeholders, to drive product implementations, enhance processes, and provide ongoing support for the Oracle ERP Cloud application and other tools.

The position is based in New York and follows a hybrid work schedule with at least 3 days a week in office.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with stakeholders and business teams across the organization to document current processes and identify areas for improvement and optimization; focus on the Source-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash workstreams
  • Evaluate and implement new product and technology functionalities to drive improvements and enhance operational efficiency
  • Establish strong partnerships and collaborate with cross-functional teams, actively contributing to key aspects of project execution-including requirements gathering and evaluation, fit/gap analysis, solution design, testing, change management, and general project coordination
  • Act as a bridge between Finance, IT, and cross-functional teams to ensure financial systems are user-focused and compliant with internal controls
  • Create and maintain clear, concise documentation of business requirements, process workflows, and solution designs to support efficient communication and implementations
  • Ensure business operations regularly through proactive issue triage and application troubleshooting


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field
  • 3+ years of total work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in business systems and process analysis; product management or systems management experience a plus
  • Broad understanding of end-to-end financial process workstreams and their interdependencies, including procurement and accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, general ledger management, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Strong collaboration and communications skills, capable of working with all levels of the organization and across diverse functional teams
  • Strong skills in analytical and critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Technically and functionally adept with an ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while effectively collaborating, learning, and sharing knowledge within the team

Preferred Skills and Interests:
  • Experience with or interest in cloud financial software (Oracle ERP Cloud) preferred
  • Experience with or interest in the Source to Pay and Order to Cash financial workstreams preferred
  • Experience with or interest in the Finance Technology industry preferred
  • Experience with or interest in identifying opportunities for automation and AI usage preferred


In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $76,000 - $93,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
