Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

What You Will Do
Under the direction of the cardiologist, manages patients enrolled in the Pacemaker/ICD clinic. Provides support and education to patients and their families.
Required Qualifications
- 3 Years Experience in cardiology.
- 1 Year Pacemaker/ICD management experience.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
Essential Functions
- Education patient and family
Identifies patient educational needs and collaborates with physicians and manager to develop teaching programs to meet those needs.
Assist with developing patient education materials and communications.
Provides individual patient teachings, as requested. - Leadership
Assists in scheduling and organizing clinical and technical in-services, customer service in-services, mock codes, and pharmacy fairs.
Provides ongoing clinical and service support and serves as preceptor for new nurses.
Consistently pro-active in team development and in problem-solving to meet department goals.
Actively and positively strives to implement departmental goals and support changes.
Acts as a resource and role model for staff.
Facilitates inter-departmental cooperation and teamwork.

Partners with physicians to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base.
Performs testing and reprogramming of cardiac devices as indicated.
Formulates, implements and evaluates an ongoing plan of care.
Develops and maintains patient database utilizing health history, physical exam, lab and other diagnostic studies.
Interprets data, discriminating between normal and abnormal findings.
Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies QA issues for self/others.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge in cardiac electro physiology/physiology.
Utilizes clinical database to produce patient reports.
Listens to patients, collects pertinent information and assesses patient's needs, recognized the urgency of the patient's problem, offers advice and recommendations based on approved protocols or routes to physicians, schedules appointments.
Assists in ensuring telephone messages are returned. - Quality assurance
Monitors patient flow, physician schedules and completes daily tasks to ensure quality and meet service standards.
Reviews charge tickets for accuracy and completeness.
Follows policy and procedure for entering of OCM.
May maintain nursing policy and procedure manuals and/or sit on policy and procedure committees relevant to department function.
Demonstrates clear knowledge and accountability of quality regulations and standards for department.
Maintains Quality Assurance book/list on unit as necessary.
