As a member of the management team responsible for Musculoskeletal Service line, reports to the Administrative Director of AMG Surgical Services. Maintains responsibility for collaborative development and implementation of the operating plans within the line and across the network. In dyad physician partnership, manages assigned department(s) to ensure the overall operational success in cost, quality, and service. Ensures optimal work environment for physicians, advance practice providers and staff. Demonstrates and promotes corporate values, service excellence, continuous improvement, team development and professional growth.

Education, Licensure/Certification and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree in healthcare or business administration preferred
- Lean Six Sigma or other performance improvement certification preferred
- Healthcare experience required
- Minimum of seven years of management and job-related experience in a physician practice or ambulatory care setting within a hospital system is preferred.
Essential Job Duties:
- In accordance with Augusta Health's mission, vision and goals, the Director anticipates the business needs, examines the competitive environment, and formulates strategic business plans.
- Works with Senior & Corporate Leadership to ensure excellence and quality standards are upheld at a reasonable cost.
- Defines and implements Augusta Health and Augusta Medical Group processes and policies to promote standardization and best practice.
- Collaborates with Human Resources and Provider Recruitment to implement strategies focused on the recruitment, retention and growth of a well-qualified workforce. Builds and maintains a strong, cohesive and high-performing team of managers and staff. Makes final decisions on hiring of line personnel and selection and promotion of managers and coordinators.
- Maintains appropriate staffing levels based on professional benchmarks, provider capacity, production and overall volume. Ensure effective employee relations through appropriate communication and timely problem resolution. Conducts professional performance reviews and annual evaluations session with direct reports.
- Supports a culture of professional growth, mentoring and advancement with ongoing succession planning.
- Models and promotes a strong customer service focus and Augusta Way principles. Manages patient satisfaction scores and implements strategies to improve overall patient and customer satisfaction.
- Supports clinical quality initiatives under the direction and partnership of Medical Directors, CMO, and ACO populations' health.
- In collaboration with Finance, develops and presents annual capital and operating budgets for area of line responsibility. Monitors and manages financial performance to ensure compliance with established budgets and organizational goals.
- In collaboration with Marketing, develops and implements marketing plans for assigned practices and providers. Monitors primary and secondary market analysis in order to continuously evaluate the competitive position of the practice and Surgical Services.
- In collaboration with the Project Management Office, plans and oversees practice growth and facility expansion and renovation projects.
- In collaboration with Business Development works to effectively analyze and manage provider relations and referral patterns to maximize service volume and reduce network outmigration. Monitors primary and secondary market analysis in order to continuously evaluate the competitive position of the practices and Surgical services.
- Interfaces with all network departments regarding cross-function operational issues. Implements organizational changes to keep staff up to date with clear and concise communication. Participates effectively in management meetings and interdepartmental workgroups.
- Monitors practice and line performance related to established metrics and oversees practice support of ongoing performance improvement initiatives. Collaborates with practice management providers and staff to identify and implement innovative approaches to cost effective quality care.
- Oversee EHR and charge capture implementation and optimization for assigned practices.
- Co-leads practice and line operations meetings.
- Fulfills all compliance and regulatory responsibilities related to position.
