Position Summary:
The Senior Manager on the J&J Enterprise Federal Affairs team is a cross-functional leadership role responsible for working closely with the team to coordinate, shape and execute strategic advocacy priorities with internal and external stakeholder audiences. The Senior Manager will support strategy and operations for the Federal Affairs team; monitor and analyze business impact of federal legislation, regulations and Administrative actions; build strategic relationships with lawmakers and their staff, with an emphasis on off-Committee and down-dais Members; support J&J's partnerships with key advocacy stakeholders; and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance Enterprise focused business and reputational workstreams.
The Senior Manager will provide support for Enterprise issue areas of focus including civil justice reform, tax and IP, corporate citizenship and home state initiatives. By leveraging strong communication skills and an understanding of the political landscape, the Senior Manager will play a critical role in driving initiatives that enhance Johnson & Johnson's growth and competitiveness and shape the U.S. corporate environment.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
120,000 - 207,000
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program. Responsibilities:
- Provide support for Federal Affairs strategic planning and operational processes to strengthen the organization and create additional value.
- Manage complex projects and be responsible for the analysis of Enterprise related advocacy issues, support the development of consensus positions on legislation and regulations, assessment of business issues and the development of a broad range of advocacy and communications materials.
- Build and maintain relationships with assigned Members of Congress and staff to advance policies that support Johnson & Johnson's growth, competitiveness and reputation.
- Provide support for Federal Affairs Enterprise advocacy on assigned issue areas and assist with senior business leader engagement with policymakers to leverage J&J's broad company commitments and specific policy priorities.
- Represent Johnson & Johnson as assigned in external Enterprise external policy discussions to position Johnson & Johnson as an industry thought leader.
- As assigned, represent Johnson & Johnson in political activities and promote the company's Enterprise priorities.
- Leverage J&J's commitments and investments to the Innovation Ecosystem externally to bolster relationships with policymakers including leading and managing the FA team relationship with JLABS to amplify J&J's unique position as an innovation leader invested in advancing early-stage life science entrepreneurship.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the public policy and advocacy arena.
- Relevant experience in health care policy and advocacy at the federal level is preferred.
- Bipartisan relationships and ability to work across the political spectrum.
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, creative and critical thinking, superior communications skills.
- Experience representing an organization with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in internal and external settings.
- Experience successfully working within a fast-paced team environment with the ability to work independently.
