Purpose
Responsible for the design and development of products for ophthalmology surgical devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations both internally and externally
- Assist in the development of system requirements.
- Direct and assist in the development of product prototypes.
- Lead product development activities through all aspects of the software life-cycle.
- Work collaboratively with project teams (i.e. ME, EE, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Quality) at all stages of development
- Ensure regulatory, statutory, and, legislative compliance
Qualification
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of ISO, regulatory and legislative standards applicable to the development of medical devices
- Full understanding of Document and Source Control
- Effectively utilize problem solving skills and techniques to identify potential issues, assess their impact, and develop and implement mitigation and resolution plans and activities
- Proven ability to lead design teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of associates, management and external partners
- Proficient in C/C++
- Experience with MATLAB Simulink
- Familiar with ARM and Sharc DSP microprocessors.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+10 yrs; PhD+8 yrs)
- 10 Years of Medical Device Experience
- Fluent English
- Expected travel is 20%
