This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

Compensation

Salary Range: $129,713 - $184,109 (Executive Hay: 1096)

Responsibilities

The President's Office is looking for a dynamic candidate with a passion for public service to support the NYCT President and Chief of Staff on high-priority executive projects. Reporting directly to the NYCT Chief of Staff , the Senior Advisor will help drive high-priority projects by identifying project priorities and goals, building a team across departments to execute the project, participating in internal and external meetings, conducting research, and assisting with preparation and execution of high-level meetings-including developing agendas, briefing materials, supporting follow-ups from meetings, and helping guide development of deliverables. At the direction of the NYCT Chief of Staff , the Senior Advisor will also drive and advance complex, high-profile, high-priority projects across many departments and disciplines at the MTA, including initiatives related to ADA Accessibility, Rolling Stock , other initiatives , and the associated policies, procedures, and processes. The candidate will be responsible for briefing and staffing the President and Chief of Staff at key meetings; drafting research memos and internal and external correspondence; and following up on essential requests and audit reports from State and local government and regulatory entities. They will work collaboratively across departments on a wide variety of matters including accessibility, technology innovation, budget, legislation, and operations. The candidate will also manage matrixed employees and/or consultants in the planning and execution of special projects and initiatives.

Education/Experience

A Bachelors degree in a major field of study, or a satisfactory equivalent with a minimum of six (6) years of related experience and four (4) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity.

Desired Skills
Prior experience working on matters involving the American s with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Accessibility issues , or a demonstrated interest in these areas .
Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, together with demonstrated quantitative skills and proficiency in Excel modeling.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the talent to communicate complex quantitative concepts in a clear and succinct way to internal stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills with an established history of working on projects requiring group consensus and cooperation among people with no direct reporting relationships.
Must be capable of building a strong and successful network, developing new relationships and influencing decision makers.
Demonstrated ability to work in team and/or group settings, including team process and staff development skills.
Ability to prioritize among competing needs and opportunities and manage multiple projects at the same time.
