Global Logistics (GL) is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead the transformation of our nonsort network optimization initiatives. This strategic role will focus on reducing costs across approximately 50% ($1.35B) of Amazon's Domestic First Mile (DFM) transportation spend through innovative supply chain solutions.

As a single-threaded leader, you will:

- Transform our historically under-optimized nonsort network through mode optimization and carrier strategy

- Drive conversion of eligible Small Parcel shipments to Less Than Truckload

- Partner with SCOT and FC teams on placement optimization

- Develop metrics and methods for procurement to secure optimal rates

- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve network efficiency

Key job responsibilities

- Own end-to-end nonsort network optimization strategy and execution

- Develop and implement new operational processes for mode conversion

- Drive data-driven decisions through deep dive analysis and business cases

- Partner with procurement on carrier strategy and rate optimization

- Create and track KPIs for measuring success of optimization initiatives

- Lead weekly/monthly/quarterly business reviews and financial planning

- Manage stakeholder relationships across Transportation, SCOT, and FC teams

- Document and scale successful optimization patterns

A day in the life

You'll start your day analyzing network performance metrics and identifying opportunities for mode optimization. Throughout the day, you'll partner with FC teams to understand operational constraints, work with procurement on rate negotiations, and develop technical solutions with our engineering teams. You'll spend time deep diving into data to validate conversion opportunities, building business cases, and documenting findings in detailed six-pager documents for leadership review.

About the team

The Global Logistics Product team for DFM Cost is a newly formed organization focused on optimizing Amazon's $2.7B annual transportation spend. As part of GL's product innovation arm, we drive strategic cost reduction initiatives through advanced analytics, network optimization, and supply chain intelligence. Our team combines supply chain experts, product managers, and business intelligence engineers to tackle complex transportation challenges. Working closely with partner teams, we're responsible for developing and scaling solutions that reduce transportation costs while maintaining service levels across the network.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

- 5+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

- Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.

- 5+ years of strategic sourcing and procurement operations experience in indirect categories.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA

- 3+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience

- 3+ years of profit & loss management experience

- Specific experience in driving process improvements in procurement

- Technical aptitude and familiarity with complex procurement systems

- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
