About the Role
Lead a team of designers through all aspects of the product design process, providing creative direction, coaching, and developing a motivated, high performing team. Research global markets in order to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, product categories and competitive inspiration. Develop overall design vision and concept for my product area, advocating and presenting strategies to internal leadership and cross functional partners. Develop strong internal cross functional relationships with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Gap inc. Sourcing, Visual Merchandising and Marketing to ensure product concept to store and site execution is a seamless customer experience. Partner with Production and Tech Design to create tech packs and communicate vision behind fit & product design, ensuring execution, quality, and desired margin targets are achieved. Collaborate and lead others in key design initiatives and their implementation. Responsible for planning, budget, and end results; set policies and strategic direction for design team. 25% domestic travel required. Must appear in office 3 days per week; WFH permissible 2 days per week.
Salary Range: $180,100 - $276,400
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.What You'll Do
1. Active/Fleece/Swim fabric content, fabric attributes/properties to highlight the end use functionality of the garment and build on fabric innovation systems specific to Active/Fleece/Swim;
2. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create and color flat illustrations (bl/white sketches);
3. CLO digital software program to communicate key items/storytelling for each season and to adjust the fit of garments during 3D prototype reviews;
4. Miro to convey the print/pattern and color, the collection perspective of each shop is displayed through outfitting, and product details;
5. Long range vision to build into specific product end uses for Active, Fleece, and Swim;
6. Product filters and aesthetic filters to deliver a clear and relevant trend POV for the season, researching macro and micro trends with Trend books, WGSN and additional trend forecasting websites; and
7. Ability to filter research and build key outfitting looks for each season, express fabric intention, support building a seasonal color palette and ability to filter and direct a team to support the creative vision of the season.
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Design (Fashion), or related field and five (5) years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in Apparel design for Men's Active, Fleece, and Swim or in the job offered or a related role.
