Team Lead - Transmission Analysis US East 1

Functional area: Commercial / Trading

Transmission Engineer will work with the Transmission Managers in various eastern interconnection markets as appropriate. Work will include maintaining power flow cases for use in PowerWorld and TARA so that they are current with approved system upgrades and interconnection queue information. Transmission Engineer will also perform power flow analysis in conjunction with the Transmission Managers as appropriate, supporting study needs.

Your future plans

• Maintain power flow cases for use in PowerWorld and TARA for various markets as assigned, including but not limited to NYISO, MISO, PJM, SPP
• Work with Transmission Managers on project analysis
• Complete Greenfield analysis and prepare presentations/information to share with Developers
• Maintain ability to hold CEII approval at all times
• Participate in model development meetings as appropriate
• Learn about markets as assigned.
• Teach other Engineers how to use software and perform studies.
• Compile and present transmission congestion data (LMP basis and curtailment).

Your powerful skills

• Minimum of a BSEE from ABET accredited institution or equivalent
• Required 2-year experience performing power flow analysis and transmission planning studies with an electric utility, consulting firm or equivalent agency.
• Required experience with one or more power flow software programs (TARA, PowerWorld, PSS/E, or PSLF).
• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related/similar field from an accredited college or university required. Advanced Degreee (Masters or higher) is preferred.
