Overall Job Summary

This position provides oversight, strategy, and tactical ownership of Tractor Supply Workforce systems, Labor planning and allocation, and Communication applications. This role ensures that the Hub applications in place are effective, forward thinking, advancing optimization of workflow from SSC to the Field, and drives continual cost benefit through operational efficiency. The position directly consults with key stakeholders to understand operational gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to build sustainable support mechanisms. The position drives accurate and timely store forecasts, workload, schedules, budgets, and store capacity planning while providing actionable insights to leadership and the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Oversee functional operations and strategic growth of Workforce Management and Execution platforms of the Hub
  • Develop, maintain, and administer annual TSC Store Payroll Budgets
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in SSC and key operators to dynamically and proactively adjust Payroll spend and staff scheduling with business changes
  • Liaison between Store Operations, FAST Team, SSC partners, and workforce teams to ensure accurate and fluid workload capacity management as well as function through the Hub
  • Oversee design, development and enhancement of accurate operational forecasting models, enterprise reporting and ad-hoc analysis to support business priorities and store staffing levels
  • Lead and empower workforce team to ensure forecasts, capacity plans and schedules are generated in a timely and precise fashion
  • Proactively drive stakeholder awareness of operational opportunities with Payroll, staffing, and execution to grow profitability and gain efficiencies
  • Serve as a key advisor and credible partner to the Administration, Finance, and executive team on workforce planning and labor related topics
  • Reduce costs and increase revenue through effective cost management, continuous improvement, technology implementation and identifying creative ways to drive effective workforce planning
  • Drive sustainable field support for labor, payroll, and communications
  • Support Store Productivity team in developing, modeling, and measuring operational changes
  • Develop actionable metrics to identify trends and insights in workforce data and articulate them in a relevant way to Finance and Operations partners
  • Consistently assess existing workforce and communications design to ensure practical business alignment and lead/influence cross-functional teams in the design of alternative approaches
  • Maintain and grow vendor relationships to increase benefit and growth from product engagements


Required Qualifications

Experience: 8+ years of Retail experience with strong business acumen foundation. 5+ years' experience managing and maintaining workforce and communications systems (expertise with Reflexis systems is required, other vendor solutions is a plus).

Education: Bachelor's degree (Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, IT or related field) preferred or equivalent experience. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Robust industry experience to drive best in class use of technology and processes
  • Problem solving, communication, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Refined organizational skills and high attention to detail to meet deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communications skills field operators and executive leadership
  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision in a project management like environment
  • Ability and proficiency with Microsoft Office products with deep experience with analytical tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access)
