Summary

The Project Development Manager is responsible for enhancing and increasing the customer and shipper base of ATS International using a formal yet consultative sales process. They will have accountability for our Foreign Trade Zone Terminals in Yuma, AZ and Houston, TX. The Project Development Manager will contact existing, inactive, or potential customers to secure business. They will evaluate and maintain complete data integrity throughout the formal sales process. This person must understand the ATS value proposition and be able to effectively articulate to customers. The Project Development Manager could be assigned a specific region, industry, or customer definition to target on a temporary or ongoing basis.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma required. Higher education (i.e., a two- or four-year degree) preferred but not required.


  • 5+ years' experience in B2B international and domestic project transportation sales required.


  • Must possess a valid TWIC Card or be approved for one within 90 days of employment


  • Established presence in the marketplace preferred.


  • General knowledge of geography and basic map reading.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with metrics and results driven approach.


  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, negotiations and customer service skills.?


  • Ability to look for ways to improve and promote quality, meets productivity standards, and strives to increase efficiency.


  • Must be proficient in responding to internal and external customer situations, responding to customer needs as required.


  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.


  • Must be able to think creatively and provide creative contributions to projects.


  • Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and work independently.


  • Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.


  • Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).


  • Willing and able to travel as needed, including overnight travel.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate revenue by developing and managing a profitable book of business with a personal drive to exceed revenue goals each month. Act instinctively to achieve objectives without direct supervision.


  • Maintain and develop sales efforts through effective sales, marketing, and customer service strategies to meet or exceed established revenue, margin and productivity goals.


  • Generate leads by working independently to identify, develop and enhance sales opportunities in assigned territories, and maintain a detailed sales pipeline via CRM from prospect origination to valued long-term client.


  • Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, cold calls, business meetings, email, and networking.


  • Demonstrate in-depth industry knowledge with the ability to identify, anticipate, understand and respond to client needs promptly. Utilize the information to make relevant recommendations to win, maintain and develop client relationships.


  • Prospect for new clients using available databases, social selling tools and techniques, and a consultative sales approach to build long-term relationships, and utilize the company's customer relationship management programs (TRAX & CIMS) as the primary customer information database.


  • Respond timely to RFPs, bid solicitations, and transactional service requests.


  • Assemble and communicate customer scope of work requirements for pricing/planning group.


  • Assist & collaborate with pricing/planning group on development of operational plans and transport concepts.


  • Present quotes/indications in a timely and professional manner; solicit and communicate timely feedback.


  • Communicate with customers to assist in resolving service exceptions to ensure customer satisfaction.


  • Assist and advise with credit collection activities as needed.


  • Enter quote, booking and load requests into the operating system as required, and monitor & track loads as needed/requested by client(s), following up with service vendors and carriers if required.


  • Maintain up-to-date account files by tracking, updating, and reporting information to ensure that current and accurate information is available.


  • Submit all sales productivity reports as assigned in a timely and comprehensive manner.


  • Understands and consistently performs in accordance with ATS Mission, Vision, and Values.

  • Complete work responsibilities outside of normal business hours as needed and infrequent travel may be required.

Compensation & Benefits
  • The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $105,000 plus position specific, performance-based incentive program. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work.
