Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, and Semiconductor Science & Technology Buildings team, based in Chicago, IL.

What a day at EXP has in store for you
  • Technical Subject Matter Expert in electrical systems design for critical industrial manufacturing including Pharmaceutical, Electronics, Chemical, Class I, II, III and Division I, II environments.
  • Knowledge in/with the NEC, NFPA Life Safety Code, and Chemical classification
  • Lead supervise and mentor Designer level staff on all of their responsibilities.
  • Establishes EXP's design and quality levels applicable to Science and Technology market sector.
  • Responsible for meeting firms engineering quality levels for discipline on assigned projects.
  • Develops design guides for the electrical department - Science and Technology.
  • Performs complex code analysis and writes interpretation for design team.
  • Maintains quality level of specifications and details based upon feedback from construction
  • Oversees development of design concepts by Designers, and ensure proper application and execution.
  • Verifies designer's work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
  • Responsible for applying firms risk management practices of project engineering.
  • Leads the design team to produce construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.
  • Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of electrical engineering.
  • Writes studies and reports for Electrical systems on projects.
  • Can operate and/or understanding of lighting calculation and electrical power analysis software.
  • Executes complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.
  • Contributes to revisions of company design standards and master specifications for market sector.
  • Expert in specific Electrical requirements for applications within a market sector(s).
  • Evaluates Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to our level of risk.
  • Prepares studies and reports for high profile projects

What your experience looks like
  • BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree.
  • At least fifteen (15) plus years of related Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois and California and can get licensed in other states of work.
  • Experience in designing Laboratories, Science & Technology manufacturing facilities, R&D, and/or related critical facilities.

The pay range for this role is $140,000-$160,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
