Role and Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for state government and federal education-related initiatives.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and documentation by PMP standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical, instructional, and administrative stakeholders.
- Manage project scope, budget, and resources to ensure timely delivery within constraints.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet compliance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate project progress and status updates to internal teams, clients, and government agencies.
- Drive the adoption of education systems/tools and ensure user training and support.
- Coordinate vendor engagements and contract management when applicable.
Minimum Qualification
- PMP Certification (Project Management Professional - current and in good standing)
- 8+ years of experience in managing state government or federal government projects in the United States.
- Proven expertise in the education sector, including knowledge of K-12 or higher education systems, tools, and policies.
- Strong understanding of education technology platforms (e.g., SIS, LMS, IEP systems).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello, Asana).
Preferred Qualification
- Experience working with departments of education or schools.
- Knowledge of federal education compliance regulations (e.g., FERPA, ESSA).
- Familiarity with grant-funded program management.
- Agile and/or Scrum certification is a plus.
